A chase in central Fresno Thursday night turned into a crash and manhunt into the overnight hours near Ashlan and Maroa. A California Highway Patrol officer was attempting to stop a driver near Blackstone in central Fresno when the driver sped off and eventually crashed into a home on the corner of Maroa and Ashlan. Man killed in Valencia Park was accidentally shot by family friend
A 20-year-old man found at a fatal shooting in Bernal Heights Tuesday has been identified by the medical examiner’s office. The shooting reported at 5:13 p.m. near Leese Street and Richland Avenue killed Duby Ortiz-Guardado, Bay City News reports. Police also found a 20-year-old woman with gunshot wounds at the scene and sent her to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A Sacramento-area pilot was sentenced on Tuesday to life in prison after he was convicted of traveling to the Philippines to have sex with girls as young as seven years old. The 57-year-old man, Michael Carel Clemans, was found guilty of buying children, attempted travel and travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct, and conspiracy to travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct, KTLA sister station KTXL in Sacramento reported.
