Bakersfield: Structure fire on 30th and Claflin
Fire officials continue to fight and monitor a blaze that broke out in the Oakland Hills just before Midnight Tuesday. Firefighters positioned themselves to fight smoke and embers. They remain an issue in the area near Snake Road and Colton Boulevard where a home under construction caught fire, spreading to other homes.
A homicide unfolded in Salinas Monday afternoon. Sources told KSBW that the victim was shot at an unknown location, and the killers dumped the man's body on Holly Street around 4 p.m.
As the Southland continues to struggle with dangerous fire conditions, a Canoga Park mobile home was fully engulfed in flames as reports of exploding ammunition and oxygen bottles created hazards for firefighters. Firefighters arrived at the 8900 block of Eton Avenue at 8:31 p.m. Monday to find a mobile home fully involved in flames. At least one vehicle was also on fire.

San Diego: 24-year-old man was shot and killed by a police officer after he smashed his way into a Point Loma home and armed himself with a knife from the kitchen, San Diego police said. Officers were first sent to Trieste Drive near Santa Barbara Street after a woman called 911 about a man who had banged on her doors and windows “demanding a knife so he could kill himself,” said homicide Lt. Mike Holden.

The Liberty Fire, which chewed through 300 acres and destroyed one home in Murrieta, was fully contained Sunday. The brusher started around 1:15 p.m. Thursday near Los Alamos Road and Liberty Road. It also leveled six outbuildings.
Artesia: A suspect was killed in a sheriff's deputy-involved shooting in Artesia Sunday night, officials said. The incident occurred around 9:35 p.m. in the area of Droxford Street and Elaine Avenue.
Sacramento: police are investigating a suspicious death outside City Hall, the department said. Around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, a 58-year-old woman was taken to the hospital, where she later died. It is unclear what caused the woman to go to the hospital.
Officers are investigating a fatal shooting that happened inside a home in the 4800 block of Elsa Rd. Sunday night. The shooting happened around 10 p.m., according to San Diego police. Officials cannot confirm the number of victims, but the victim(s) was pronounced dead at the scene.
