Madera County Sheriff's Deputies are on the scene of a deadly and suspicious overnight fire call. It happened just after midnight at a home on Robertson Boulevard between Adams Drive and Myers Drive on the outskirts of Chowchilla.

A San Diego police officer suffered minor injuries when his car was hit Monday by a suspect's vehicle in an early-morning pursuit in San Diego's Lincoln Park neighborhood, police said. The speeding car collided with the officer's patrol car around 12:30 a.m. in the 5000 block of Logan Avenue, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said.
A woman whose body was discovered near a South Encanto park was identified Monday. Lavaughn Rawshanda Nicole Williams, 29, was found dead just after 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of South 66th Street, San Diego Police Department Lt. Todd Griffin said.
Police are at the scene of a homicide in the Oak Park area. The Sacramento Police Department reports the deadly shooting occurred just north of 11th Avenue on 44th Street. There is currently no suspect information and the motive is unknown at this time.

A Temecula man was killed when his car crashed into a fence in Fallbrook, California Highway Patrol officers said Sunday. The man, 38, was driving west on Via Monserate near La Canada Road just before 7:30 p.m. Saturday when his car left the roadway for unknown reasons and careened into a fence.
Authorities say a man was arrested for impersonating an anesthesiologist at a California hospital. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports a security alert from Sharp Grossmont Hospital in San Diego says the man was found Thursday in the hospital's doctor's lounge dressed in blue scrubs and a white physician's coat bearing the Sharp logo. The man also had with him a stethoscope, a cellphone with Arabic messages on the screen and a set of rental keys to a Mercedes-Benz.
