Man found shot to death inside car in Santa Ana
Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputy shot. There was an officer-involved shooting on the 700 block of Coppini Lane near Ferndale. It happened just before 1 Saturday morning. The condition of the deputy is unknown at this time.
Officials say a man was on his way to work when another car pulled up next to him and began shooting at his car. The car was shot near Marks and McKinley. The driver of the car told police he did not recognize the person shooting and began following the car. Officials say the suspect was driving a dark colored SUV when they began firing.
A woman was killed Saturday inside an apartment located at a Santa Ana shopping area, police said. Officers responded to a domestic violence call at 11:33 a.m. on a second-floor apartment at 316 W. Fourth St., according to a news release from the Santa Ana Police Department. The home is located above popular shopping and dining businesses on Calle Cuatro, the Orange County Register reported.

The fourth-largest wildfire in California history continues to grow and threaten thousands of homes despite armies of fire crews and fleets of bulldozers and aircraft. Although Santa Ana winds eased on Friday amid the blaze northwest of Los Angeles, they are expected to return with a vengeance over the weekend. And the fire is so large that winds on one end may be gustier than those on the other side.
Five people, including a young girl and her father, were hospitalized Friday night after a shooting erupted in a Pacoima neighborhood. The shooter was at large after the incident. Emergency personnel responded to a home near Pala Avenue and Jouett Street shortly before 8 p.m. Authorities found four men between the ages of 20 and 30 suffering from gunshot wounds.
A suspect is in custody after a double murder in northeast Fresno and we are learning more about what lead to the deaths of 21-year-old Brennen Fairhead and 21-year-old Scott Gaffney of Fresno. Fresno Police questioned murder suspect Gary Perry for hours at police headquarters. They still aren't sure what the motive was for these killings, but say Perry told them he shot and killed two young men who were his friends.
A man accused of fatally stabbing a South Bay resident whose body was discovered inside a barrel floating near the surface of San Diego Bay pleaded not guilty Friday to a murder charge. Timothy John Cook, 52, is accused in the death of 28-year-old Omar Medina. Prosecutors said the victim was stabbed 66 times.
A burglary suspect was hospitalized in unknown condition after an officer-involved shooting Friday afternoon in West Covina, authorities said. No West Covina police department officers were harmed in the incident, which occurred about 1:40 p.m. in the area of Glendora and Cameron avenues, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
