2 year agoHotspots at homes in Orange Co. California neighborhood of Coronado Pointe in Laguna Niguel still popping up. Fire crews will be here throughout the night trying to make sure flames don't spread to other homes on the block.
2 year ago@SCE has sent a letter to the CA Public Utilities Commission informing them of "circuit activity occurring close in time to the reported time" of the CoastalFire. Edison said in part "Our thoughts are with the community members whose homes have been damaged

2 year agoWalking through the Coronado Pointe neighborhood of Laguna Niguel. Seeing many homes still with active flames. The devastation is widespread. Fire crews from numerous agencies making sure the flames don't spread further
2 year agoCoastalFire (LagunaNiguel, Orange Co) - Radio traffic: still making good progress, working with copter on a problematic area on the original right shoulder (believe that is the glow on the right below, ocean side of the canyon), but it is holding within the dozer line

2 year agoCoastalFire (LagunaNiguel, Orange Co) - IC starting to release some resources including a strike team back to LA City & 5 OCFA engines. Some more OCFA engines & trucks will be released in the next 30 mins. The fire was mapped at 195 acres
2 year agoNight attack mode, lots of engines and trucks helping with structure protection, along with one helicopter performing water drops tonight at the Coastal Fire in Laguna Niguel, CA. Large homes continue to burn tonight and despite firefighters best efforts, many were lost

2 year agoThe CoastalFire in Laguna Niguel has burned 24 homes, spread to 200 acres and is 0% contained. There are, so far, no reports of injuries.
2 year agoIt is a total disaster zone on Coronado Pointe in Laguna Niguel. More than 20 houses have been lost in this fire. The winds are kicking up embers keeping firefighters busy trying to prevent more houses from going up.

2 year agoThe community of Laguna Niguel, CA is coping with the fury of Mother Nature tonight as firefighters continue to battle the 200 acre CoastalFire into the night. At least 20 homes destroyed, no injury reports yet.
